The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has formally announced the conclusion of Ghana’s World Cup group‑stage ticket support scheme, which provided limited access to match tickets for Ghanaian supporters in Canada, the United States, and other parts of the world.
According to the Ministry, the government procured and distributed tickets for the Black Stars’ three group‑stage fixtures through Ghana’s Missions abroad and recognized associations. The allocation covered:
- Ghana vs Panama: 948 tickets
- Ghana vs England: 1,000 tickets
- Ghana vs Croatia: 974 tickets
Officials emphasized that the tickets were not for commercial sale but formed part of coordinated national support interventions. The Ministry acknowledged the high demand and disappointment among fans who could not benefit, clarifying that the scheme was limited strictly to the group stage. Supporters are advised to purchase tickets for subsequent matches directly through FIFA’s official channels.
The statement expressed appreciation to Ghana’s Missions in Canada and the United States, supporter groups, and stakeholders for their collaboration. It further pledged transparency, noting that a list of recipients will be published in due course.
Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, extended gratitude to all who rallied behind the Black Stars, urging continued support with unity, discipline, and national pride as the team advances in the tournament.
