Ghana has solidified its position as a premier destination for sustainable mining investment and a leader in African mineral policy at the 2026 edition of the Invest in Africa Mining Indaba held in Cape Town, South Africa.
The country’s strategic vision was championed by a full-spectrum delegation led by the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah (MP). He was supported by the heads of key implementing agencies, including:
- Mr. Isaac Tandoh, Minerals Commission
- Ms. Ama Mawusi Mawuenyefia, Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP)
- Dr. Prosper Akaba, Ghana Geological Survey Authority
- Mr. Williams Okofo-Dateh, Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation (GIISDEC)
Through a series of high-level bilateral engagements, the Ghanaian delegation showcased a unified strategy centered on domestic value addition and continental cooperation. Officials highlighted Ghana’s commitment to responsible mineral development, industrialization, and regional integration, positioning the country as a model for sustainable resource governance in Africa.
The delegation’s presence at the Indaba underscored Ghana’s determination to attract investment while advancing policies that ensure minerals contribute to long-term economic transformation.
