Ghana Issues Advisory on Vaccination for Travelers to Senegal

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a public announcement advising Ghanaians traveling to Senegal to ensure they are medically prepared, following recommendations from Senegalese authorities.

According to the statement dated April 7, 2026, the Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad in Dakar has recommended vaccination against diseases such as yellow fever, DPT, measles, and hepatitis A and B for health and safety reasons. However, the advisory clarified that vaccination certificates for these diseases are not mandatory for entry into Senegal.

The Ministry emphasized that while travelers are not required to present certificates, they are strongly encouraged to take precautionary measures to safeguard their health. “The welfare of Ghanaian travelers remains a priority,” the announcement noted, urging citizens to consult medical professionals before embarking on their journeys.
