The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has unveiled Ghana’s first-ever One-Day Expedited Passport Delivery Service.
Under this new initiative, applicants can receive a fully processed, ICAO-compliant Ghanaian passport within 24 hours. The service incorporates a simplified application procedure, nationwide courier dispatch, and an electronic tracking system that allows users to monitor the progress of their document in real time.
The Ministry has pegged the fee for this urgent option at GHS 2,000. Officials emphasized, however, that the regular application process remains unchanged. The standard chip-embedded passport continues to cost GHS 350, with delivery assured within 15 working days through courier services at no additional charge.
Authorities describe the expedited scheme as a vital intervention for emergency situations and pressing travel requirements, including sudden business engagements or family-related crises.
Applicants wishing to use the new service can apply through the Ministry’s official portal at passport.mfa.gov.gh.
