Deputy Minister-nominee for Transport, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has affirmed her unwavering dedication to supporting the substantive Minister in establishing a reliable, secure, and effective transportation system in Ghana.
During her appearance before Parliament’s Appointments Committee, she highlighted her eagerness to take on a proactive and impact-oriented role within the Ministry of Transport.
The Member of Parliament for Jomoro made it clear that she does not intend to be a ceremonial figure, but rather an integral part of the Ministry’s daily operations and strategic planning, contributing to the execution of policies aimed at improving the sector’s overall efficiency.
Dorcas Affo-Toffey also stressed the significance of promoting gender balance in the transport industry, pointing out the current underrepresentation of women as a critical issue that demands immediate attention.
She expressed her commitment to integrating women into diverse roles within the sector, including technical, operational, and leadership capacities across all institutions overseen by the Ministry.
