Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, have inched up one spot in the latest FIFA world rankings, moving from 76th to 75th following their recent performances in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The rise comes on the back of the team’s September 2025 international window, during which Otto Addo’s men drew with Chad before securing a crucial home victory over Mali’s Eagles at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The results ensured Ghana maintained their position at the summit of Group I in the qualifiers.
While the global ranking improvement is a welcome boost, the Black Stars’ standing on the African continent remains unchanged. They are currently ranked 14th among CAF member nations.
Coach Addo has expressed optimism about further progress, noting that the team will be aiming to climb higher when they return to competitive action later this year.
