CDS Commends Sergeant Majors for Upholding Discipline in GAF

 The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, has lauded Service, Formation and Command Sergeant Majors for their pivotal role in maintaining discipline and professionalism within the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

Speaking at a get-together held at the General Headquarters on Wednesday, the CDS described Sergeant Majors as custodians of the culture and traditions of the military. He urged them to continue reinforcing the values of discipline, loyalty, integrity, professionalism, unity, courage and respect for authority.

Lieutenant General Agyapong also cautioned personnel against the wrongful use of social media, emphasizing the importance of verifying and cross-checking information before publishing or commenting online. He noted that responsible use of digital platforms was essential to safeguarding the image and credibility of the Armed Forces.

On behalf of the Sergeant Majors, the Forces Sergeant Major, Chief Warrant Officer Daniel Addo, pledged their commitment to diligently and professionally supporting the mandate of GAF.

The gathering highlighted the enduring role of Sergeant Majors in shaping the ethos of the Armed Forces and ensuring that discipline remains the bedrock of military service.
