The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has confirmed that the Latvian Foreign Ministry has officially responded to Ghana’s request for cooperation in the ongoing investigations surrounding the death of Ghanaian national Nana Agyei.
According to the Minister, Latvian authorities have agreed to receive a Ghanaian delegation in Riga on January 20, 2026, to advance efforts in the pursuit of truth and justice.
“This journey is a crucial step in ensuring accountability and transparency,” Ablakwa stated, reaffirming his commitment to providing regular updates to the public. He emphasized that the Mahama administration remains resolute in its duty to protect the dignity and rights of all Ghanaians, both at home and abroad.
The visit is expected to facilitate direct engagement with Latvian officials and support the broader investigation into circumstances surrounding Nana Agyei’s case.
Ablakwa reiterated that every Ghanaian life matters and pledged that the government will do whatever it takes to uphold justice and safeguard its citizens.
