The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is set to commission a new Passport Application Centre in Dambai today, marking a major milestone in expanding access to passport services across the Oti Region.
The centre, which promises 24-hour operations and delivery within 15 days, will be officially opened by President John Dramani Mahama. He will be joined by Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, and Hon. John Kwadwo Gyapong, Member of the Council of State representing the Oti Region.
Designed to streamline passport processing, the facility offers reduced application fees, courier delivery options, and an e-tracking system. It is also compliant with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.
The launch is expected to ease the burden on applicants in the region, many of whom previously had to travel long distances to access passport services. Officials say the centre reflects government’s commitment to decentralizing essential services and improving public access to travel documentation.
Residents can begin applications immediately via the official portal: passport.mfa.gov.gh.
