Roads Minister Updates Parliament on Key Projects

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Governs Kwame Agbodza, has disclosed to Parliament that construction works on the Miaso–Asirebuso–Owusukrom feeder road have reached 49 percent completion.

He cautioned, however, that progress has slowed due to delays in payment to contractors.

The Minister made the announcement while responding to sector-related questions in the House. He further briefed lawmakers on the Besease–Jamasi road, noting that it has been earmarked for rehabilitation by the Department of Urban Roads.

The project forms part of a broader contract that also covers roads in Jamasi, Addientem, Donase, Adako Gyakye–Kwamo, and the Bronikrom area within the Ejisu Municipality.

According to Hon. Agbodza, the rehabilitation contract commenced on 19 December 2024 and is scheduled for completion by 18 December 2026.

The updates underscore government’s ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure across the country, though challenges with funding continue to affect the pace of delivery.
