GMTF-MahamaCares, NLA Explore Partnership to Boost Healthcare Delivery

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF)–MahamaCares has initiated discussions with the National Lottery Authority (NLA) to strengthen healthcare delivery across the country.

On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, a delegation from GMTF, led by its Administrator, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, paid a courtesy call on the Director-General of the NLA, Mohammed Abdul-Salam, at the Authority’s headquarters in Accra.

Mrs. Darko-Opoku underscored the urgent need to address critical gaps in hospital infrastructure and diagnostic equipment nationwide. She appealed to corporate institutions to complement government’s efforts by investing in healthcare facilities and lifesaving technologies.

In response, Mr. Abdul-Salam commended the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention to improve the well-being of Ghanaians. He pledged the NLA’s readiness to collaborate with GMTF through project-based partnerships and annual contributions.

The NLA leadership expressed optimism that the partnership would not only enhance healthcare infrastructure but also ensure equitable access to quality medical services across the country.

The engagement marks the beginning of what both institutions hope will be a long-term collaboration aimed at strengthening Ghana’s healthcare system and improving outcomes for patients nationwide.
