GES Releases Internal Examination Fees for SHS Students

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released funds for the payment of internal examination fees for Senior High School (SHS) 2 and SHS 3 students for the 2025/2026 academic year.

In a letter dated October 16, 2026, and addressed to all Regional Directors of Education, GES announced that the funds had been transferred to the accounts of Senior High Schools and Senior High Technical Schools across the country.

The Service directed Regional Directors to inform heads of the affected schools that the funds had been made available to facilitate the smooth conduct of internal examinations.

According to the statement, the distribution schedule for the payments has already been communicated to Regional Accountants for implementation.

GES expressed confidence that the transfer of the funds would enable schools to conduct their academic activities seamlessly and ensure that the examination process is not disrupted.

The Service also called on regional education authorities and school administrators to continue providing their usual cooperation and support to ensure the effective utilization of the funds.

The letter was signed by the Deputy Director-General in charge of Quality and Access, Prof. Muna Waris Saahque, on behalf of the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service.

The release of the examination fees is expected to ease the financial burden on schools and support preparations for end-of-term assessments for SHS 2 and SHS 3 students nationwide.
