DVLA Records Sharp Increase in DP Sticker Issuance, CEO Reveals

The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, has disclosed that the issuance of Dealer Plate (DP) stickers has witnessed a significant increase, reflecting improvements in the Authority’s operations and service delivery.

According to Mr Kotey, monthly DP sticker issuance has risen from an average maximum of 1,900 stickers to more than 5,000 stickers, with the figure reaching 15,000 stickers per month by October.

He said the substantial growth demonstrates increased efficiency in the processing and distribution of the stickers, which are issued to authorised vehicle dealers and used for the movement and testing of unregistered vehicles.

The DVLA Chief Executive noted that the increase forms part of broader reforms aimed at strengthening operational systems, improving regulatory compliance and enhancing service delivery across the Authority.

Mr Kotey indicated that the reforms have contributed to increased productivity and improved access to DVLA services by stakeholders within the automotive sector.

He emphasized the Authority’s commitment to leveraging technology and administrative reforms to improve efficiency, reduce bottlenecks and ensure greater transparency in its operations.

The rise in DP sticker issuance is expected to support the activities of vehicle dealers and other industry players while contributing to improved regulation of vehicle-related transactions in the country.

The DVLA has in recent years embarked on a number of initiatives aimed at modernising its services, improving customer experience and enhancing revenue mobilisation through digital and operational reforms.
