The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has outlined the programme and voter identification requirements for its national conference scheduled for October 3, 2026, during which delegates will consider constitutional amendments and elect national officers.
A statement issued by the party’s National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) and signed by its Chairman, Frederick Opare-Ansah, directed all constituency, regional and national officers, as well as delegates, to take note of the arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the exercise.
According to the statement, proceedings will take place in two phases. Consideration of constitutional amendments will begin at exactly 9:00 a.m., while the election of national officers is expected to commence at 12:00 p.m.
The NOEC stated that voting would be conducted across 31 polling stations for nine key national executive positions. The positions include National Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, National Organiser, National Women’s Organiser, National Youth Organiser, National Nasara Organiser, National Treasurer and National Communications Director.
To ensure the integrity of the electoral process, the committee said each delegate would vote only once and must have his or her name on the delegates’ register before being allowed to cast a ballot.
Delegates have also been instructed to present a valid form of identification before voting. Accepted identification documents include a Voter ID card, Ghana Card or an NPP party card.
The committee urged delegates to bring one of the approved identification documents and sufficient time for verification before the start of voting.
It further called on all constituency, regional and national officers to ensure that the notice is brought to the attention of delegates under their respective jurisdictions.
The conference is expected to provide a platform for delegates to deliberate on proposed constitutional reforms while electing leaders to steer the affairs of the party.
