The Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, has lauded the 2026 Civil Service Week Celebration, describing it as a timely initiative to highlight the indispensable role of the Civil Service in Ghana’s development.
Speaking during an interaction with staff of the Ministry of the Interior and its Agencies at the ongoing exhibition at the Accra Sports Stadium, Hon. Terlabi emphasized that the celebration underscores the strategic importance of the Civil Service in advancing Ghana’s sustainable development agenda and promoting responsive public service delivery.
“The exhibition is also showcasing government’s achievements across the various Ministries and Departments. This is a positive way of creating awareness of the services being provided in the Civil Service,” he noted.
Accompanied by the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mrs. Doreen Annan, the Deputy Minister toured exhibition stands mounted by the Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Narcotics Control Commission, National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons, and other institutions. He particularly commended the Ghana Prisons Service for the creativity of inmates who have produced dresses, bags, furniture, beads, and other items.
Organized by the Office of the Head of Civil Service, the 2026 Civil Service Week Celebration is being held under the theme: “The Resetting Agenda for Sustainable Development in Ghana: The Civil Service’s Responsibility.”
Civil Service Week is observed annually to recognize the contribution of civil servants to national development and to promote efficiency, professionalism, and patriotism in public service.
