The Inspector‑General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted 25 personnel of the Ghana Police Service in recognition of their exceptional performance and dedication in recent high‑profile operations across the Bono East, Tema, and Western Central Police Regions.
The promotions follow the successful arrest of six suspects involved in a GH¢300,000 highway robbery along the Portor–Kawempe stretch of the Kintampo–Buipe Highway on July 19, 2026; the apprehension of four suspected members of a violent robbery syndicate at Wassa Akropong in the Tarkwa area; and the interception of 866 parcels of suspected cocaine at the Tema Harbour.
Among those promoted are Chief Inspectors Bede Nwinbomeh and Joe Tetteh; General Sergeants Elijah Ndaga Yinimi and Kaifan Sulemanna; General Corporals Owusu Ansah Evans and Tansang Jonathan; General Lance Corporals Osei Christopher Bonny, Kyei Francis, Ofori Francis, Anim Dominic, and Asante Isaac; and General Constables Adam Bakari Alhassan and Bakai Mark. Detective Chief Inspector Frank Dzah, Detective Inspectors Edem Ametowoga, Abroso, and Vincent Dankwah, as well as Detective Sergeants Salifu Yakubu and Samuel Mordzifa, were also honoured. Six additional personnel received promotions for their contributions to crime‑fighting operations.
The IGP emphasized that the promotions reflect the Service’s commitment to rewarding professionalism, courage, and dedication. He announced that Chief Inspectors Nwinbomeh and Tetteh have been granted automatic entry into the Police Academy.
Congratulating the officers, Mr. Yohuno and members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) urged them to continue demonstrating integrity and commitment in their duties. The IGP assured that the administration will sustain efforts to acknowledge and reward hard work, reinforcing morale and strengthening the fight against crime nationwide.
