The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has announced that a revised curriculum for Kindergarten to Junior High School will be presented to the Ministry of Education this week, introducing new subjects such as coding, artificial intelligence, electronics, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Speaking at the Government Accountability Series, Hon. Iddrisu explained that the reforms are designed to equip young Ghanaians with relevant skills for the modern economy. He emphasised that the inclusion of digital and technical subjects at the foundational level will prepare students to thrive in a technology‑driven world.
The Minister also revealed government’s intention to expand access to medical education, drawing lessons from recent reforms in legal education under the Legal Education Act, 2026. He noted that broadening opportunities in professional training is essential to developing the skilled workforce needed to support Ghana’s long‑term development.
According to Hon. Iddrisu, ongoing reforms in education are aimed at increasing access to professional careers in key sectors while ensuring that Ghanaian students are equipped with the knowledge and competencies required to meet national and global challenges.
“These initiatives reflect government’s commitment to building a future‑ready workforce and ensuring that education remains the cornerstone of Ghana’s development agenda,” he stated.
