The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the release of funds to cover perishable items for Senior High School (SHS) students in Forms Two and Three.
In a circular dated 15th July 2026 and signed by Deputy Director‑General (Q & A), Dr. Munawaru Issahaque, the Service confirmed that allocations for perishables covering the period 1st March to 4th September 2026 have been transferred into the accounts of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools nationwide.
Regional Directors have been instructed to notify heads of schools of the disbursement and ensure that official receipts of the funds received are submitted to the Director‑General through their Regional Accountants.
The directive underscores management’s emphasis on accountability and timely reporting in the administration of resources for the Free SHS programme. It also comes as schools prepare for the next academic term, with the assurance that provisions for perishable food items are secured.
