The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has entered into a GH¢8.4 million partnership with Ghana Water Limited (GWL) to rehabilitate the Bonsa, Daboase, and Sekyere Heman Water Supply Systems in the Western and Central Regions.
At the signing ceremony, GoldBod Chief Executive Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, Esq., explained that the Board had conducted an independent technical assessment before approving the project. He reaffirmed GoldBod’s commitment to responsible mining, environmental sustainability, and improving the lives of Ghanaians.
GWL Managing Director, Adam Mutawakilu, expressed gratitude for the intervention, noting that the rehabilitation works would restore water production and improve service delivery to affected communities after years of operational challenges.
The collaboration underscores the importance of public‑private partnerships in addressing infrastructure gaps. Both institutions emphasized that the initiative represents an investment in sustainable solutions that protect the environment while strengthening critical public infrastructure.
