JICA Reaffirms Support for Ghana’s Industrial Transformation and 24‑Hour Economy

 The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry has received renewed commitment from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to deepen cooperation in support of Ghana’s industrial transformation agenda and the government’s 24‑Hour Economy initiative.

This assurance was conveyed when Deputy Minister Hon. Sampson Ahi, representing Sector Minister Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu‑Adjare, hosted JICA’s Chief Representative in Ghana, Mr. Uchiyama Takayuki, at the Ministry in Accra.

Mr. Uchiyama expressed appreciation for what he described as a long‑standing and productive partnership between Ghana and JICA. He reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to supporting Ghana’s development priorities, particularly efforts aimed at boosting industrial growth, improving productivity, and advancing the 24‑Hour Economy framework.

He noted that JICA remains committed to working closely with Ghanaian institutions to promote sustainable economic transformation through targeted technical cooperation and development assistance.

Welcoming the assurance, Hon. Ahi reiterated government’s determination to strengthen collaboration with development partners in advancing trade facilitation, agribusiness development, and industrial modernization.

Officials underscored that the renewed partnership reflects Ghana’s drive to accelerate industrial growth and create a resilient economy through strategic cooperation with international partners.
