The Parliamentary Select Committee on Energy has undertaken a working visit to Vivo Energy and Shell Ghana as part of its oversight responsibilities over key players in the downstream petroleum sector.
The visit was aimed at giving members of the committee firsthand insight into the operations of the two companies and assessing their contributions to Ghana’s energy landscape. Officials from both Vivo Energy and Shell Ghana delivered detailed presentations outlining their operational structures, challenges, and strategic priorities.
Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, emphasized the importance of strengthening the downstream sector through targeted legislative reforms. He reiterated the committee’s commitment to supporting policies that will drive growth, improve efficiency, and ensure sustainability within the industry.
The engagements form part of Parliament’s broader oversight mandate to ensure that private sector operators in the energy space align with national objectives of reliability, affordability, and long-term sustainability.
