Ghana Armed Forces Launch Search and Rescue Operation at Sea

 The Ghana Armed Forces have confirmed that a major search and rescue operation is underway following an attack on fishing vessels off the coast of Senya Bereku in the Central Region.

According to a statement issued by the Department of Public Relations at Burma Camp, the Ghana Navy, supported by the Ghana Air Force, began the operation at dawn on Thursday, approximately 35 nautical miles from shore.

Details of the incident remain limited, but officials say the coordinated response is aimed at ensuring the safety of those affected. The Armed Forces have appealed to the public to remain calm as efforts continue.

Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, assured that further updates will be provided as the situation develops.

The operation underscores the Ghana Armed Forces’ readiness to respond to maritime threats and safeguard the nation’s coastal communities.
