Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC has reaffirmed that striker Hamza Issah remains under a valid and legally binding contract with the club, dismissing recent speculation about his contractual status.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, management clarified that no competent judicial, regulatory, or arbitral body — including the Ghana Football Association’s Player Status Committee (GFA-PSC) or FIFA — has confirmed the termination of Issah’s contract. The club stressed that it has not defaulted on financial obligations in a manner that would justify unilateral termination under FIFA regulations.
Hearts of Oak condemned the unauthorized disclosure of confidential correspondence by the player’s representatives, describing the conduct as unprofessional and misleading. The club also expressed alarm over South Africa’s Siwele Football Club, which allegedly engaged Issah without Hearts of Oak’s consent, facilitated travel arrangements, and extended an invitation despite the existence of an active contract.
Management described the move as unlawful interference and player inducement, in violation of FIFA regulations. Formal complaints have since been lodged against ProSports International and Siwele Football Club with FIFA and other relevant authorities.
The statement emphasized Hearts of Oak’s commitment to professionalism, transparency, and regulatory compliance, urging supporters and stakeholders to rely solely on official communication channels for accurate information.
