The Ghana National Research Fund (GNRF), led by its Board Chairman, Prof. Eric Yirenkyi Danquah, has paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, to outline steps being taken to operationalise the Fund.
Prof. Danquah explained that the Fund’s primary objective is to support evidence-based development through research, positioning Ghana to harness knowledge for national progress. He formally invited the Speaker to the official launch of the Fund scheduled for June 4, 2026.
The Speaker welcomed the delegation and assured them of Parliament’s support in advancing the Fund’s mission. He, however, encouraged the Board to explore additional sources of funding to sustain operations and ensure long-term impact.
The Ghana National Research Fund is expected to provide critical financial backing for research initiatives across sectors, strengthening innovation and policy development while promoting inclusive growth.
