The Volta Regional House of Chiefs, led by its President and Paramount Chief of Anfoega Traditional Area, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in Accra.
The visit, according to Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, was to congratulate the Minister on his birthday and his appointment as Foreign Affairs Minister, while also strengthening ties between the traditional leadership of the Volta Region and the Ministry.
Welcoming the delegation, Hon. Ablakwa expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, noting that he considered it a privilege to host the traditional leaders at his official workplace. He explained that he had initially intended to visit the House of Chiefs himself, but the leaders had graciously chosen to travel to Accra instead.
Togbe Tepre Hodo IV commended the Minister for his dedicated service to Ghana and his keen interest in the development of the Volta Region. He acknowledged that the region had long faced challenges in securing its fair share of national resources, but observed that recent improvements could be attributed to the Minister’s commitment and advocacy.
The President of the House of Chiefs further praised Hon. Ablakwa for maintaining strong ties with the region despite his demanding national responsibilities, encouraging him to continue championing the interests of the Volta Region while serving the broader interests of the country.
The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration between traditional leadership and government institutions in advancing regional development and ensuring that local concerns receive national attention.
