Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, speaking at the Government Accountability Series on Monday, highlighted new initiatives designed to expand tourism opportunities and strengthen Ghana’s cultural development agenda.
As part of efforts to support the Government’s 24‑Hour Economy, the Ministry has launched Accra by Night, a structured night tourism product aimed at promoting activities beyond daytime hours. The initiative is expected to create fresh opportunities for restaurants, artists, transport operators, and small businesses, while positioning Accra as a vibrant destination for both domestic and international visitors.
On cultural development, Hon. Gomashie announced that three additional standardized orthographies for Ghanaian languages will be introduced before the end of the year. This move, she explained, aligns with the vision outlined by President John Dramani Mahama and reflects the Government’s manifesto commitments to preserve linguistic heritage and promote inclusivity.
Her presentation formed part of the Government’s broader commitment to transparency and accountability, ensuring citizens remain informed about progress across key sectors of the economy.
