On Friday 10th June, 2022, over 200 tree seedlings were planted to commemorate this year’s initiative in the area.
The annual nationwide exercise which is targeted at planting some twenty million trees forms part of the effort by the government to preserve and protect the country’s forest cover and the environment at large.
Mohammed Sani, organizer of Adenta Municipal council of Zongo chiefs, Sheikh Mitawakil Abubakar, Chief imam of new legon, Sarki Dauda Ali, Zongo Chief of New Legon, Abdul Ganiyu Mahmoud Secretary of new legon Zongo Chiefs and Suleman Alhassan, Zongo chief of Rozaroza were all present at the event.
The exercise began from the Adenta Commandos Animal Research last stop to the Commandos area.
Mr. Ganiyu lamented that the education on this year’s Green Ghana initiative was poor and he encouraged the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to intensify coming years of education.
The Chief Imam, Shiekh Mitawakil thanked the MCE for Adenta and Baina tv for their support.
