A major step forward in Ghana’s fight against Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) has begun with the Ghana Medical Trust Fund officially welcoming Emily Helen Davidson, an assessor from Project C.U.R.E., the world’s largest distributor of donated medical supplies serving more than 135 countries.
Davidson is in Ghana on a 10-day working visit and will collaborate closely with the Ghana Medical Trust Fund team, led by Dr. Norbert Kipo, to conduct detailed hospital needs assessments across selected teaching and referral facilities.
Over the coming days, the team will engage hospital leadership to evaluate infrastructure, staffing, patient volumes, and critical equipment gaps. The findings will guide customised plans to deliver essential diagnostic equipment and consumables tailored to Ghana’s healthcare needs.
Officials noted that the partnership represents more than a routine visit, describing it as a strategic collaboration that brings progress in strengthening Ghana’s healthcare system. By aligning donations with specific hospital requirements, the initiative aims to enhance the country’s capacity to respond effectively to NCDs and improve patient outcomes.
