The Ghana Police Service has begun investigations into a disturbing viral video that shows an adult male giving a substance believed to be a cigarette to a young child.
In a statement, the Police described the act as concerning and said efforts are underway to identify and arrest the suspect captured in the footage. According to the Service, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the child remains a top priority as the inquiry progresses.
“The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigation into a viral video where a man is seen administering a substance suspected to be a cigarette to a child. Every effort is being made to identify and arrest the suspect involved, and to ensure that the child is safe and protected,” the statement said.
The Police further appealed to the public for assistance, urging anyone with relevant information on the identity or whereabouts of either the man or the child to report to the nearest Police Station.
The video, which has been widely circulated on social media, has drawn public outrage, with many calling for swift action to protect the child and hold the perpetrator accountable.
