Police Arrest Blogger For Alleged Publication Of False News

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man for allegedly publishing false information about a private individual, following a complaint lodged with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

According to a police statement issued on Thursday, Samuel Amadotor was arrested with support from the National Signals Bureau (NSB) after Mr. Okatakye Boakye Danquah Ababio I filed a report accusing him of deliberately circulating false news about him.

The statement noted that during interrogation, Amadotor confessed to the offence and claimed he carried out the publication on the instructions of a man identified as Chairman Michael Yeboah. Police say Yeboah is currently being sought to assist with ongoing investigations.

The suspect is being held in police custody and is expected to be arraigned before court on Friday, November 21, 2025.
