New Leadership Emerge in Parliament

A new era has begun in Ghana’s Parliament with the appointment of key leaders, marking a significant shift in the country’s legislative landscape.

At the helm of this change is Hon. Mahama Ayariga, Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, as the Majority Leader, bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise.

Ayariga’s appointment is seen as a strategic move, aimed at strengthening the ruling party’s presence in Parliament.

He will be supported by Hon. Kwaku Ricketts-Hagan, who has been appointed as Deputy Majority Leader. Together, they will play a crucial role in shaping the country’s legislative agenda and ensuring the passage of key bills.

Other key appointments include Hon. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor as Majority Chief Whip, Hon. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah as 1st Deputy Majority Whip, and Hon. Richard Acheampong as 2nd Deputy Majority Whip.

These appointments are expected to bring a new level of dynamism and effectiveness to the ruling party’s parliamentary caucus.

The appointments are also seen as a reflection of President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to strengthening the country’s democratic institutions and promoting good governance.

As the new leadership settles in, they will be expected to work closely with the Executive to ensure the implementation of the government’s policies and programs.

The development is likely to have significant implications for the country’s political landscape, as the ruling party seeks to consolidate its power and push through its legislative agenda.
