New Leadership at Ghana Shippers Authority: Prof. Ransford Gyampo Appointed Acting CEO

Professor Ransford Gyampo, a renowned academic and political analyst, has been appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority by President John Dramani Mahama.

This appointment marks a significant milestone in Prof. Gyampo’s distinguished career, which spans over two decades in academia, governance, and public policy.

As a Professor of Political Science and Founding Director of the Centre for European Studies at the University of Ghana, Prof. Gyampo brings a wealth of expertise in governance and public administration to his new role.

His academic focus areas include governance, leadership, democratic development, youth empowerment, and maritime security, making him an ideal candidate to lead the Ghana Shippers Authority.

Prof. Gyampo’s impressive background includes advanced studies at Tufts University in Boston, USA, and visiting scholar positions at the University of South Florida and the University of Bristol.

He has also dedicated 14 years to the Governance Unit of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA-Ghana), where he provided evidence-based policy recommendations to address Ghana’s socio-economic challenges.

As the new Acting CEO of the Ghana Shippers Authority, Prof. Gyampo is expected to leverage his expertise to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of Ghana’s shipping industry.

His appointment has been welcomed as a positive development, given his track record of shaping national discourse and influencing policy reforms through his research and thought leadership.
