The National Tenants Union of Ghana (NATUG) has given its seal of approval to the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) housing policies, citing alignment with its own goals .
After reviewing proposals from various political parties, NATUG praised the NDC’s plans to transform the Rent Control Department into an independent Rent Authority and introduce other tenant-friendly initiatives.
NATUG’s Endorsement: Key Reasons
– Alignment with NATUG’s goals: The NDC’s housing policies resonate with NATUG’s objectives, making it an attractive choice.
– Transforming Rent Control Department: The proposed independent Rent Authority aims to better regulate rental markets and protect tenants’ interests.
– Tenant-friendly initiatives: The NDC’s plans include measures to improve rental affordability, security, and maintenance standards.
This endorsement is a significant boost to the NDC’s campaign, particularly ahead of the December 7, 2024 elections.
It’s worth noting that other prominent figures, like gospel artist Nacee, have also publicly endorsed former President John Mahama’s policies.
