The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah‑Kofi Buah, has upheld the revocation of the Akango, Salman and Nkroful mining leases of Adamus Resources Ltd, confirming that the decision takes immediate effect.
It will be recalled that on April 26, 2026, the Minister revoked the company’s leases after investigations established breaches of Ghana’s mining laws. Adamus Resources subsequently petitioned the Ministry for a review.
Following a comprehensive assessment of the petition and all relevant matters, the Minister reaffirmed the revocation and directed the Minerals Commission to assume administrative oversight of the company. The Commission has been tasked to ensure an orderly transition and continuity of operations.
Hon. Buah assured workers that their jobs will be safeguarded throughout the process, stressing that the revocation will not jeopardise livelihoods. He emphasized government’s commitment to protecting employment and legitimate investments in the mining sector while enforcing strict compliance with Ghana’s mining laws and the conditions under which mineral rights are granted.
This latest decision underscores government’s resolve to balance investment protection with regulatory enforcement in the extractive industry.
