The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has officially been sworn in as the new Board Chairman of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).

The swearing-in ceremony, held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, also saw the induction of Professor Ransford Gyampo, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority, as a member of the newly reconstituted GPHA Board.

These appointments are part of a broader government initiative to strengthen institutional leadership and governance within the port sector. The new board is expected to provide strategic oversight, shape policy direction, and enhance operational performance across Ghana’s major ports.

As a key player in the country’s trade and logistics ecosystem, the GPHA is central to facilitating international commerce. The new leadership is tasked with driving reforms to boost competitiveness, improve revenue mobilisation, and position Ghana as a premier maritime hub in West Africa.
