Hughton’s familiarity will make coaching Black Stars easier- Ex Black Stars goalkeeper

Former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has stated Chris Hughton’s familiarity with the Black Stars will make his work as a head coach easier.

He said this in an exclusive interview with CITI Sports after Hughton was appointed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as Black Stars head coach.

Hughton worked as Technical Advisor with the Black Stars prior to his latest appointment; Hughton takes over the head coaching role after Otto Addo stepped down after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

“He’s been with the team during even the qualifiers…so he knows the core of the team so I think it will be very easier for him to continue from where Otto left. He knows the boys, he knows the core of the team so I think he will continue from there and he will do well” Dauda said.

Dauda played for the Black Stars at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the 2013 AFCON while featuring for clubs like Legon Cities FC and Orlando Pirates.
