The Ghana Police Service has unveiled a comprehensive security strategy to safeguard citizens during this year’s Easter festivities, with special emphasis on the Kwahu enclave, a popular destination for holiday celebrations.
In a statement issued by the Public Affairs Directorate and signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the Service assured the public of “robust security measures” to guarantee a safe and incident-free Easter.
Police personnel have been deployed to event grounds, recreational centres, tourist sites, and other areas expected to attract large crowds. Patrols have been intensified, and operational teams stationed along major routes leading to and from Kwahu to enhance security. Motor traffic officers are also on duty to manage congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement.
Beyond visible deployments, intelligence operations have been activated nationwide to detect and respond swiftly to any criminal activity. The Service urged the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with officers, and adhere to safety guidelines. Motorists were specifically cautioned against speeding, drunk driving, and ignoring traffic regulations.
The Police further advised patrons to safeguard personal belongings and report suspicious activity to the nearest officer or station.
“The Ghana Police Service wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable Easter and assures the public of its commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the festivities,” the statement concluded.
