The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable James Gyakye Quayson (MP), has received His Excellency Teferi Fikir Gosaye for a farewell call following the completion of his tour of duty as Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of Ghana.
Hon. Gyakye Quayson commended Ambassador Gosaye for his dedicated service and his role in deepening the cordial relations between Ghana and Ethiopia, which date back to Ghana’s independence. He highlighted the steady growth in cooperation across aviation, trade, tourism, education, and institutional collaboration, reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to further strengthen bilateral ties. He emphasized the importance of African cooperation, intra-African trade, and connectivity as drivers of sustainable development, assuring the outgoing envoy of Ghana’s continued goodwill and wishing him success in his future endeavours.
Ambassador Gosaye expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Ghana for the warm hospitality and cooperation extended to him during his tenure. He praised Ghana’s democratic credentials, peaceful environment, and strong institutions, describing the country as stable and welcoming. He noted the progress made in bilateral relations, particularly the expansion of Ethiopian Airlines operations in Ghana, which he described as a symbol of enhanced connectivity and integration. He further underscored the importance of African solidarity, self-reliance, and the pursuit of African solutions to African challenges.
Both the Deputy Minister and the Ambassador expressed confidence in the continued cooperation between Ghana and Ethiopia, reaffirming their shared Pan-African vision and commitment to advancing integration across the continent.
