Alhaji Ibrahim Fuseini Faila has beaten his main contender, Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman Survivor to emerge the winner of the chairmanship position of the NDC Madina Constituency.
This happened last Saturday October 29 at the Madina Social Welfare after the elections were postponed from the previous week due to inadequate ballot papers.
At the end of the counting, which went deep into the night, the Electoral Commission announced that Alhaji Ibrahim Fusseini Faila polled 1,185 whiles his opponent Alhaji Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman Survivor, who was the incumbent chairman, polled 1,002.
The EC said Total Votes Count was 2,187 and Total Votes Cast was 2,201 with 14 being rejected ballots.
Baina News spoke to some excited supporters of the Alhaji Faila about his win.
Another contender for the General Secretary position who is also the incumbent, Abdul Razak Hussein, expressed his gratitude to the delegates for retaining him.
The MP for the Madina Constituency, lawyer Francis Xavier-Sosu expressed his satisfaction about the whole exercise as he said it was free and fair devoid of any violence.
Baina News Also spoke to the excited Alhaji Ibrahim Fusseini Faila after his win. He thanked the delegates and all the people that supported his during his campaign and promised to change things for the better so that the NDC will win the 2024 elections.
Some executives of the constituency were retained while others lost their positions.
