The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are reported to be in stable condition following a traffic accident on the Bolgatanga-Tumu Road on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
The incident occurred while the ministers and their entourages were en route to official duties in the Upper West Region.
A statement issued by Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Education Minister, confirmed that all members of the convoy are stable and receiving appropriate medical care.
The ministers were travelling to participate in the 40th Anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education when the crash happened.
The statement did not disclose details regarding the cause of the accident or the severity of injuries sustained by the officials and their teams.
The Office of the Minister for Education expressed gratitude to emergency services, medical personnel, and members of the public for their prompt support and concern.
“The Office expresses its appreciation to emergency responders, health professionals, and members of the public for their swift assistance and concern,” the statement read.
It further indicated that additional information will be shared as necessary.
