The Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has assured residents of Bawku that the vandalized statue of the Bawku Naba will be fully restored.
Describing the destruction as “regrettable and unacceptable,” Dr. Boamah revealed that reconstruction efforts are already underway, with firm commitments to hold the perpetrators accountable.
He also condemned the recent shooting of two military personnel in the area, calling it a troubling escalation of violence. The Minister pledged that justice will be swift and decisive.
Dr. Boamah stated that the Defence Ministry is actively monitoring the situation and remains fully committed to supporting ongoing security operations to restore peace and stability in Bawku.
“Let us unite to uphold peace, protect our traditions, and strengthen the bonds that hold our nation together,” he urged.
