Alex Tenge, a 22-year old carpentry trainee Killed his stepfather and grandmother after consuming sobolo combined with indian hemps, in the eastern town of koforidua.
The entire affair took place when there was a festive occasion at Koforidua Okurasi, and many people had traveled there from various parts of Ghana. Alex was overjoyed and drank a variety of beverages, including sobolo. Following the drink, it is reported that Alex tried to fondle a particular woman but she refused and yelled for help, and it was the woman’s shouts that drew attention to Alex.
Later that night, blood stains were discovered on Alex’s clothes. The grandma visited Alex’s stepdad’s room to see how he was doing. She screamed when she saw the blood and the unconscious man in the room; it was at that point, according to reports, that Alex attacked and butchered her as well, following which he fled.
He maintains that he didn’t do that on purpose, but rather that his pals gave him a sobolo, which caused him to lose consciousness, after which he recognized he had committed a grave transgression.
Mr. Kuamdoe(Alex’s uncle) claims that, Alex consume beer but that he is unaware he uses Indian hemps and so the family and the entire town were shocked by the incident.
He also claim that , Alex fled into hiding before being apprehended by the police after killing his victims.
The victim is at the scene of a major investigation and the police detectives are seeking for the abovementioned friends who gave Alex the sobolo drink that was allegedly spiked with “wee” or Indian hemp.
