The Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has unveiled Parliament’s Corporate Strategic Plan for the period 2026 to 2030, a framework designed to strengthen oversight, improve service delivery, and promote transparency and accountability.
Speaking at the launch, the Speaker emphasized that the document would help build “a more responsive and practical institution that serves the needs of citizens.” He noted that the plan reflects Parliament’s commitment to aligning its work with the expectations of the public while ensuring efficiency in governance.
The event brought together key parliamentary leaders and governance stakeholders, including Majority Leader Hon. Mahama Ayariga, Deputy Minority Leader Hon. Patricia Appiagyei, First Deputy Speaker Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, Clerk to Parliament Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, Mrs. Mary Addah, Executive Director of Transparency International Ghana, and Mr. Hooman Nouruzi, Head of the Political, Security and Governance Team at the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
The Strategic Plan is expected to serve as a guiding document for Parliament’s operations over the next four years, reinforcing its role as a central institution of democracy and accountability.
