Renowned civil rights lawyer Benjamin Crump has arrived in Ghana to participate in the 2025 Diaspora Summit, following an invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Widely referred to as “Black America’s Attorney-General,” Crump was warmly received at the Ministry, where officials hailed his decades-long fight for justice in some of the United States’ most high-profile cases of racial police brutality. His legal advocacy has spanned the tragedies of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Jacob Blake, Keenan Anderson, Sonya Massey, Trayvon Martin, and many others.

Crump is scheduled to deliver a keynote address on reparative justice at the summit this Friday, a theme expected to resonate strongly with delegates from across the African diaspora.

The Diaspora Summit, a flagship event in Ghana’s “Beyond the Return” initiative, brings together leaders, activists, and communities to strengthen ties between Africa and its global diaspora. Crump’s presence underscores the summit’s focus on justice, equity, and shared progress.
