Ashanti Regional Command Extends Compassion to Persons with Drug Use Disorders

The Counselling, Referral and Social Reintegration Unit of the Narcotics Control Commission (Ashanti Region) has reached out to persons living with drug use disorders under its flagship programme, Wheels of Change.

The outreach, held at Amakom, targeted individuals in vulnerable conditions, with the aim of spreading love and providing compassionate support to encourage access to counselling and rehabilitation services.

Fifty persons in active substance use benefited from the initiative. The team provided refreshments, including rice, drinks, and water, as part of efforts to restore dignity and offer hope to participants.

Officials explained that the programme is designed to promote social reintegration and reduce stigma, while strengthening pathways to recovery for those struggling with substance use.

The Ashanti Regional Command reaffirmed its commitment to supporting affected individuals and communities, stressing that compassion and care remain central to tackling drug use disorders.
