Ashanti Region Warned: NAPO Says NDC Vote is a Waste

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, has issued a stern warning to voters in the Ashanti Region, urging them not to cast their ballots for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections.

According to Napo, who is the Vice Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the NDC has consistently demonstrated a lack of genuine commitment to the development of the region.

Speaking at a rally in Tweapeasi, within the Odotobiri Constituency, Napo emphasized that voting for the NDC would be a wasted vote, as they do not prioritize the progress of the Ashanti Region. He pointed out that despite receiving significant votes from the region in past elections, the NDC has neglected the region’s needs while in power [1).

Napo expressed his disappointment and surprise at the NDC’s discriminatory attitude towards the people of the Ashanti Region. He cited examples of harmful policies introduced by the NDC, such as the capitation policy for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), which was implemented only in the Ashanti Region to create hardship for the people.

“The NDC and their leaders have something against the people of the Ashanti Region,” Napo said, referencing former President John Mahama’s statement that even if the roads in the Ashanti Region were constructed with gold, the people would never appreciate it.

Napo advised voters to reject the NDC on December 7, emphasizing that the party does not have the Ashanti Region’s best interests at heart. He urged voters to support the NPP, which he believes is committed to the region’s development.

As a medical doctor and politician, Napo has served as Minister of Education and Minister of Energy, and is currently the Member of Parliament for the Manhyia South Constituency ¹. His warning to voters in the Ashanti Region reflects his concern for the region’s well-being and his commitment to ensuring its development.
