Teacher trainees in the country’s colleges of education have promised to fight any attempt to deprive them of their three square meals each day.
It appears after the National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education – Ghana (PRINCOF) published a new directive in reaction to the government’s downfall to compensate six-month feeding payment arrears.
From May 8, 2022, the students will sustain themselves according to the new charges. This, according to PRINCOF, is the decent option for resisting turmoil in the educational process of the schools.
However, Jonathan Dzunu, President of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG), asserted a conference with the Education Ministry has been scheduled for Friday, April 22, 2022, to evaluate the problems.
PRINCOF contends to have carried the subsequent efforts to guarantee a sharp educational calendar:For a week, from April 23 to April 30, 2022, teacher trainees will be given two feasts, breakfast and supper. Teacher trainees coaches will only be provided lunch from May 1 to May 8, 2022.
It stated that “from May 8, trainee teachers would be required to supply their lunches until their feeding allowances are reimbursed.”
