Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, will lock horns with Germany in an international friendly on March 30 as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The encounter, scheduled for Stuttgart, forms part of Ghana’s build-up to the global tournament which kicks off on June 11 across Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
Drawn in Group L, Ghana will battle England, Croatia, and Panama in the group stages.
This fixture marks the first confirmed warm-up match announced by the Ghana Football Association, with head coach Otto Addo eager to fine-tune his squad ahead of the competition.
“This is an amazing opportunity for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world. Germany are a good side, and we can’t wait to face them in Stuttgart,” Addo stated.
Germany, ranked fourth globally, will feature in Group E alongside Curaçao, Ivory Coast, and Ecuador.
Head coach Julian Nagelsmann remarked: “We are very much looking forward to the clash with Otto’s team. Their strong transition play can give us a taste of what to expect in the World Cup group match against Ivory Coast.”
Historically, the Black Stars have met Germany three times in competitive fixtures, recording two losses and one draw.
