The Committee on Roads and Transportation has begun consideration of the 2025 budget estimates for the Ministry of Transport and its agencies, following a detailed presentation by the Ministry.
During the session, the Ministry outlined its funding plans, provided updates on ongoing projects, and shared projections for the 2026 fiscal year. Officials also highlighted key challenges, including unfunded critical projects and delays in salary payments for workers of the Ghana Railway Company.
Committee Chairman, Hon. Mensah Adjei, commended the Ministry and its agencies for the comprehensive report and urged them to maintain regular engagements with the Committee to ensure effective oversight and support for the Minister of Transport.
He further encouraged the Ministry to strengthen financial management and place greater emphasis on developing the railway sector, which remains a vital component of Ghana’s transport infrastructure.
