Two Arrested Over Ablekuma North Election Voilence

The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with violent incidents that occurred during the Ablekuma North parliamentary re-run election held on Friday, July 11, 2025.

The suspects have been identified as Musah Muntari, a 46-year-old station manager at STC, and Ali Saeed, also known as Mboma, a 43-year-old businessman. Both individuals are currently assisting the police with investigations.

The arrests form part of an ongoing operation to identify and prosecute all persons involved in violence, intimidation, or misconduct during the polls.

In a statement signed by Ms. Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, the police assured the public of their commitment to bringing all perpetrators to justice.

The Command also encouraged citizens to continue cooperating with law enforcement by providing relevant information through hotlines 18555 or 191.

The Ablekuma North re-run election had sparked public concern following several reports of assault and electoral violence on voting day.
